Africa and the Future of Work: What Does the Future of the New Economy Holds for the African Employee? – I

The World Economic Forum will be coming to an end today and so many global issues have been the focus of discussion from economic growth to the future of work to climate change and tech disruptions.

Concerning the future of the new economy, a report was released, titled: Jobs of Tomorrow: Mapping Opportunity in the New Economy.

From this research, we’ll get to understand what this new economy will be and it’s implications for the African employee.

Things you need to know about the new economy:

  • We will continually need adoption of new technologies
  • Human interaction will remain key in the new economy
  • The new economy will see a greater job need in what the research calls the seven professions of the future

From the study, there’s an expectation that 6.1million jobs will be created in the next three years from these professions. The two major trends of the jobs of the future will be: adoption of new technologies and continuing importance of human interaction.

Indeed, the future of work shows demand for a broad variety of skills that match these professional opportunities which includes disruptive technical skills, specialized industry skills and core business skills.

THE 7 PROFESSIONS OF THE FUTURE

As stated earlier, these professions hold a promise for being the most potent in the new economy. They are what will drive the growth that’s needed to sustain the system at large.

These emerging professions are:

  • Care Professions
  • Data and AI
  • Engineering and Cloud Computing
  • Green Professions
  • Marketing, Sales and Content
  • People and Culture
  • Product Development

“In the aggregate, over the coming three years” says the research, “37% of projected job opportunities in emerging professions will be in the Care Economy (or profession); 17% in Sales, Marketing and Content; 16% in Data and AI; 12% in Engineering and Cloud Computing; and 8% in People and Culture.”

This means the Care Profession will still lead in this global need. I agree with this so much because the tech disruption in our system will call for a need to address the effect on humans of the disruption.

Although there are about 10 skills needed for each profession target, the summary of these skills are sub-divided into five different clusters:

  • Business Skills
  • Specialized Industry Skills
  • General and Soft Skills
  • Tech Baseline Skills
  • Tech Disruptive Skills.

The next post will be a breakdown of emerging jobs and the 10 skills needed for each profession.

Friday Book Review with Chuks | Turning Pro by Steven Pressfield

Going through Steven Pressfield’s book is making me think deeper. He resounds the principle of work again and again and also… emmm…

I think you just need to go through the content yourself so I don’t spoil your taste.

(How’s the new year? That’s a view from the back of the office, towards a farmland… There have been serious weather fluctuation. Suddenly, we woke up and it’s the harmattan breeze again 😔… I’m in Enugu, Nigeria. What about you?)

So, how do I Turn Pro?

The Points!
  • When we are afraid to pursue our true calling, we pursue a shadow calling instead.
  • The shadow way of living is the way an amateur lives.
  • The more time we spend living this shadow life, the farther we go from the real thing and it gets more difficult to get back to it. (I feel this happens to most young folks. We hide under school, work and degrees. We deceive ourselves whereas we know what we are capable of doing. Yet, for fear and perhaps, to make some persons happy – which might not be bad – we opt for a lower life).
  • Habit is what differentiates the amateur from the professional.
  • Turning PRO starts with a single decision but must be sustained with consistent action.

Im Not No Way GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Turning Pro is not for everyone. It’s free but requires sacrifice.

When you Turn Pro, your life becomes easier not without challenges (you enjoy the bullets because you know you’re meant for the war).

There’s an unconscious voice that we hear that tells us what our Pro is. Yet, most people ignore it.

The fear of the amateur is the fear of success… the fear of living up to what is meant for him or her.

The amateurs get their identity from others. They are scared of standing out, as being unique.

The Quotes…

“Practise before you need it so that when you do you will have it.”

“Turning Pro is free but it is not easy. You don’t have to take a course or buy a product. All you have to do is change your mind.”

“Sometimes when we are terrified of embracing our true calling, we’ll pursue a shadow calling instead. That shadow career is a metaphor for our real career.”

“The amateur life is our youth. It’s our hero’s journey. No one is born a Pro. You’ve got to fall before you hit bottom, and sometimes that fall can be a hell of a ride.”

“Resistance hates two qualities above all others: concentration and depth. Why? Because when we work with focus and we work deep, we succeed.”

The amateur prizes shallowness and shuns depth…

“Professionals don’t wait for inspiration, they acts in anticipation of it.” (I pimped this one).

“The Pro will share the wisdom with other professionals – or with amateurs who are committed to becoming professionals.”

“Our intention as artists is to get better to go deeper, to work closer and closer to the bone.”

Questions?!

I need to be Michael Jackson now or William McDowell who both sang songs describing how I feel now:

Speechless and I’m at a loss for words respectively.

Going through the book is just an experience. But let’s see…

Are you a Pro? (And this has nothing to so with whether you’re working with Access Bank or Glo or you have your startup).

Remember he said, it’s not for everyone. Someone will read this and just open a new tab. No problem! But if you’re a Pro, you’ll know.

To close this, think about these few questions:

  • What is making you scared of living that life that’s so visible in your mind?
  • Are you scared of even listening to that voice? (I know that it speaks to everyone. Yes, it does.)
  • Who will live that life if you don’t?

5 Reasons Nigerian Graduates Don’t Practice What they Study in School.

Don’t get it twisted. One of the most hard working youngsters in the world are Nigerians. Check out how widespread we are. I know the average human on earth sees Nigerians as negative. Yet, we rule.

See these examples yourself: banking guru, Jim Ovia (founder of Zenith Bank), media master, Jason Njoku (founder of Iroko TV),

So, you’ll be missing out of the thrill when you think there’s no benefit the average Nigerian youth (graduate) has for the nation or the continent to the world.

Yet, the other side of the coin that I see and don’t think it’s good is the fact that more than half of Nigeria graduates don’t practise what they studied in school. This might be a global phenomenon but let’s see the flavor in our national context.

Why do we not practice what we study?

  • No Personal Vision for the Career Path.

(We just want to make a living.) I spend time with secondary school students and I have a feel of what is being taught in terms of career. In fact, from my own experience, we were groomed to just move from class to class (although thanks to my teachers and lecturers) until it’s time to choose career.

The idea is that we will figure it out. And most don’t. We just conform to any of theses: medicine, law or engineering. Anything else is stupidity. Thus, from highschool, there’s little effort placed on finding a vision in life.

I’ve had students ask me, Is it bad that I don’t know what I want to study in college? With a sense of understanding for where they are, I say yes but instantly I start that journey for the student.

Recently, I posted my first video on a YouTube channel (dedicated to giving highschool kids insights on how to choose a career).

What do we see today?

We wake up one day. Discover we’re in SS3. Register for JAMB and WAEC Exam. Kpam kpam kpam, we gain admission. During holidays, we spend time doing something else. School starts, we feel a huge load. All we see is the glamor in the career so before graduation we’re seeing ourselves with an official car.

Is it bad? Not really.

After graduation, we go for service. If there’s money, we go for MSc. No money, we look for jobs and hustling start.

Very few get to follow a path with a vision. A vision that transcends the economic situation of the country. All we hear is there’s no job.

While I know the government is meant to provide jobs, I also know that if there are no jobs, it’s our responsibility to create one.

A personal vision for the field of Agriculture is what will make a graduate of Agriculture start a poultry farm or any business that’s connected to agriculture.

My Suggestion: While we make our government responsible for their roles, let’s begin to choose careers with a mindset of bringing changes and not stop at making a living.

  • No Easy Opportunity.

I would blame the government (from previous administrations inclusive) more for this mishap. I was thrown off balance the day I heard that there’s a federal job but for you to get it, you’ll need to pay several thousands. I was pained.

So, a father pays N500,000 or more for a 4 year course of his daughter and when she’s done, he’s asked to pay for her to get a job. Are we moving forward or what?

And some of our parents accept it. It’s horrible.

The second blame on this for me is the mindset we build in school that says: after graduation, look for a job. So

  • Lack of Patience to Follow and Build Mastery.

If the message on the hood is that I can’t wait to learn from anyone, then it’s a dangerous one.

I can attest to the fact that the entrepreneurship vibe is becoming a flu. While there are fields that don’t need much time for practising, mastery is needed to deliver good value.

I heard Mr_Brainbox, Cofounder Blueprint Afric said something like that if he knew what he knows now, he’d have gone to work for someone for a while before moving to run his business.

My generation does not want to follow. We want to start without serving.

Robin Williams Hug GIF by MIRAMAX - Find & Share on GIPHY

  • Insufficient Presence of ACCESSIBLE Models in those Fields.

I respect all professionals who have built pedigree over time in their fields. I salute. Yet, I’m thrown off balance when I see a Professor who wants to make life difficult for another student coming in to study for his Masters.

I’ve heard stories of how the big lions in several industries don’t want to allow the younger ones come up. I don’t know why. Although, I’m aware of the mindset of my generation. It can be discouraging for a master to teach a student who is impatient, lacks respect and does not want to work.

What is the need of knowing so much without transferring the knowledge to the next generation? Why have some of us made it look like no one will advance without you?

Even in the work environment, you see where employers find it hard to even train employees. I’ve heard complains about this severally. What I say sometimes is this: if some employers were privilege to hoard the information on the internet from some employees, they will.

pexels-photo-259165.jpeg

  • Urgency to Make Money.

Victor AD (an indigenous artist) sang a song and said if we no make money wetin we gain o (if we can’t make the money, then there’s no need). Thoughts like this, without a balance, makes our best brains waste. They are entangled in online frauds. Everyone wants to hammer. (I like money. It is important for life on earth. But where should that priority be placed?)

4 Most Important Skills Every Nigerian Employer will Need in 2020.

In about 20 years’ time… jobs that are outside of making music or art are going to be computer programs. Everybody else is going to be pretty much obsolete.

Pulkit Jasiwal

Life is changing so fast that I can assure you that if you check your Google Play store now, you’ll see an app or apps that need update. You want to try?

In fact, if you updated a week ago, you’ll still have an app staring at you for update?

Why?

Change is ravaging everything around us. Whether you want it or not… In fact, if you don’t change, you’re left behind.

We’ve just spent six days plus in the start of a new decade. And see, if you have a job in Nigeria, there are about 500,000 graduates looking to take your job each year if you drop it.

I’ve been involved in recruiting engagements and I want to say this:

Your CV is not relevant if you’re not getting better.

And if you keep being the same, your employer (if he or she is visionary – civil servants are off it) will see you cheap if you don’t have these skills in 2020:

Good Digital Skills

My boss was just introduced to twitter recently. He knows about it but not fully engaged with it… have had android for more than five years now. Suddenly, it’s proving to be important.

From personal tweeting to organizational tweets, it’s now necessary to understand the twitter environment. We had to even hire someone to oversee that aspect.

Please note that this is beyond twitter. It’s about digital literacy. Can you blog? Can you create content? Can you drive traffic? Do you know how to program? If your boss have not talked about this with you, get ready. You’ll hear it soon!

Continuous Creativity

As an employee, it’s not been easy for me to keep up with the pace. Yet, I’ve made sure that something new comes up every season.

For example, the structure of our content for training just changed. Since I do training with teens, I had to adjust it completely. I added smileys 😀😄 to it. And the students are enjoying it… Also started training secondary students who run businesses and NGOs. And it’s been fun.

Relationship Skill

Two things are involved here – relating with your coworkers and relating with your customers.

If you don’t know how to relate, forget it.
Your employer or boss might not tell you but when you default in assignments because you are not a team player, your job might be at stake.

Problem Solving Skills

Why do you think you’re employed? Although, some folks think that it’s because of their beauty… Yet, that beauty must solve problems o otherwise you’ll be out…

This is linked to creativity but different. One can be creative without solving problems.

So, don’t just be creative. Let that creativity be tied to solving problems.

As you enter 2020, get trained in these skills so you can offer more value to your organization and make yourself mor valuable too.

Friday Book Review with Chuks | The 9 Dimensions of Success by David Nielson.

Can you imagine today is 3rd of January, 02:24am and I’m publishing this work now. Is the year running so fast again?

I can hear the fireworks blasting and smelling in my New Year’s night imagination. But you know what, business goes on. Life goes on.

Well, let’s see in this video, what insights David E. Nielson has in his book: The 9 Dimensions of Conscious Success.

I so much love this video because it’s short and the questions for each point is mentioned there. So, as you listen, it’ll be good to have a pen to note them.

For our quotes, we’ll not have it this week. Just have a time to brood on the questions David Nielson raised in the video.

Again, welcome to 2020 and my first post for the year. Why not dive into that project of yours and do something about it now?

It’s not about showing up in the office. Rather you should be able to answer the question, “What did I produce today?” after each day.

Our next book review will be on the 17th of January, 2020. Keep your eyes and heart attuned and don’t let the traffic 🚃🚕 of Lagos (or the busyness of your city) make you loose your peace!

Do have a sweet and successful 2020 building your niche in your career!

4 Things to Make Your Goals Achievable in 2020.

I think I’ve mentioned this before that I started goal setting when I was seventeen. And I’ve looked at certain years with despair. Why?

After going through books like GOALS by Brian Tracy I don’t understand why my goals will not be achieved. Looking closely, you’ll see that this is one of the reasons we don’t set goals.

Yet, I still do set goals. Why? I’ve discovered these four secrets. There might be others but this is what I’ve worked with that has produced results, including this blog.

Dance Love GIF by Charlie Wilson - Find & Share on GIPHY

Are your goals CONNECTED TO YOU? You don’t set goals for me. I set goals for me and you for you. Why? I know where it hits me the most. And you know where it hits you the most.

What triggers a musician might not be what triggers a salesman. Let your goals be yours. In that way, it’ll be easier to feel inspired by it.

The Disaster Artist Filmmaking GIF by A24 - Find & Share on GIPHY

Are you taking strategic ACTIONS?

The universe doesn’t give you what you ask for with your thoughts – it gives you what you demand with your actions.
Steve Maraboli

Are goals animate?

SO, why do I set a goal to write a book and I refuse to put down a pen daily to write… After a while, I grumble that goal setting doesn’t work.

Setting goals without acting on them is like having a desire to cook and eat beans but then you decide to put few cups of uncooked beans inside a pot, on the stove without lighting the stove.

What will you get after 1hr?

After taking actions, are you willing to be PATIENT? I can remember my first date… Chai! I palpated that day like I was going to see a Governor. After the whole euphoria, I landed at Kilimanjaro restaurant. Guess what?

She wasn’t there. Guy, I waited o. No reason am… We die here! She finally came and we “prayed” lol! I knew my goal. I acted but see, I waited o.

Everything we do on earth has an element of time in it. Do you know when I started dreaming of having a blog?

Patience is not sitting in your house and expecting to loose 8kg. It is visiting the gym, over time, with an expectation of the result you desire.

Are you LEARNING ALONG THE WAY? If I tell you the number of blog sites I’ve created, you’ll laugh at me. The sites are on but I won’t share it now.

As a teens coach, one of the first assignments I had in 2016 was to speak to a group of teens in a school I’d not been to. See, it was so tough. I had the passion but do it nah… If I hear!

Until I started practising weekly, I was just day dreaming about speaking to teens. Today, I know I can stand anywhere to talk with teens. Why? I’ve acted on it over time and I’ve learnt what doesn’t work and what works.

I think sometimes when we don’t act on our goals, we don’t know what we need to stop doing and what to start doing.

The first feedback you get as you act on your goals is usually to differentiate what works from what does not.

As 2020 comes, please take time to apply these principles to each of your goals: make sure it’s connected to you; take actions daily – babe take action; be patient and then keep learning (the learning includes knowing when to throw away some goals).

Merry Christmas in arrears and Happy New Year in advance!

FRIDAY BOOK REVIEW WITH CHUKS | MANAGE YOUR DAY TO DAY: Build Your Routine, Find Your Focus and Sharpen Your Creative Mind by Jocelyn K. Glei

Going through this book gives a broader perspective of the time management framework.

I’m in Enugu (Coal City, Nigeria) but I also understand that the vibe in Lagos is on a higher level. Several times, I ask myself,“Do you want to be a local player or a global player? “

This alone gets me thinking and more importantly for 2020, I’m having a whole new structure for my time. Why? I want to be a global player and this book has helped shown me how.

Can we ride and see it?

The POINTS?!

  • Do your most productive work early in the day and reactive works later in the day.
  • Learn to organize your workspace to inspire work. Like set a particular music or set the tables in a manner that tells your mind it’s time to work.
  • Learn to block out time daily when no one will disturb you no matter what. (I’m personally learning this… So, from 8am till 11am, it’s hard to catch me free.)
  • Schedule time for creative thinking. This can be different from work. It can be early in the morning before dashing out for work.
  • Don’t allow perfectionism eat you up. This has nothing to do not going for the best. However, use all you’ve got to deliver the best you can while knowing when to submit a work and move on to the next.

Catching Guru Studio GIF by True and the Rainbow Kingdom - Find & Share on GIPHY

  • Much of what we are taught about multitasking is scam. Studies have shown that the tasks that we can multitask effectively are those that are highly automatic like walking and talking… dancing and singing… While in the activities that require our conscious mind, what we do is task switching. And task switching is highly unproductive. The alternative? Finish a task and move or break a task into bits of finishes so you can take breaks at those times.
  • Learn to build renewal into your work day. As you do your work, find time to rest. (This disturbs me the most. The average African employee and employer sees rest as waste of time. We are the least present at vacations. We don’t rest yet the economic systems speak of who is ahead.)
  • One of the authors, Lori Deschene says this about the social media thing:

  • Keep your long term vision or goals in front of you so that it helps when you prioritize your day.
  • Place huge value on your imaginations than on technology.
  • What if you do things everyday at certain times just to play, for fun?

QUOTES!

“I don’t wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.” Earl S. Buck

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Aristotle

“It’s not the load that breaks you down. It’s the way you carry it.” Lena Horne

(I melted when I saw this quote directly above. If you did physics in school, you’ll grab it faster.)

“Tell me to what you pay attention and I will tell you who you are.” Jose Ortega

“The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful people say no to almost everything.” Warren Buffet

“You can do anything but not everything.” David Allen

(Wow! My head is telling that the reason for this is that our time and energy is limited.)

“Look at the word responsibility – RESPONSE-ABILITY – the ability to choose your response.” Stephen Covey

“Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.” William S. Burroughs

“Creativity is not a talent. It is a way of operating.” John Cleese

(While I agree with the last line of this quote, I disagree with the first line. What do you think?)

“Inspiration is for amateurs, the rest of us just show up and get to work.” Chuck Close

“The artist who aims at perfection in everything achieves it in nothing.” Eugene Delacroix

(Hmmm… I think this doesn’t mean don’t strive for excellence.)

“Creation is in part merely the business of foregoing the great and small distractions.” E. B. White

The Questions?!

The primary question this book poses for me is this: Do I have control over my time? Have I scheduled my most important tasks for the day on the most important times of the day?

Check the 12 points I mentioned above and gauge it with your life.

2020 is coming soon…! The website of the editor of this book jkglei.com/

This is my Most Important Goal for 2020.

It occurred to me that if you focus on goals, you may hit goals – but that doesn’t guarantee growth. If you focus on growth, you’ll grow and always hit goals.

John Maxwell

I’ve studied so many of his books and I’ll recommend it for anyone who wants to master leadership especially in the work place.

Going through The 15 Laws of Growth, I saw where John Maxwell mentioned the differences between goal oriented individuals and growth oriented individuals. How did this happen?

He had a meeting with one of his mentors who asked him about his personal development plan. Instead, he started telling him how he’s planning to do this and do that and do this like we all do… I will get four more customers, I’ll get four more schools, I’ll hit my marketing target… bla bla bla…

In the course of the conversation it was so clear to John Maxwell that he just had goals but no personal development plan. He’s been a goal oriented person instead of a growth oriented person.

John Maxwell had to save money over a period of time, with his wife (this is a virtuous one really), to buy their first personal development program.

More than 45 years down the line, the difference is clear. He has sold more than 25 million copies of his books, a major with fortune 500 companies, a global leadership guru, trained millions of leaders round the world. You can visit his website here

This story alone gave me a new perspective of what my most important goal should be for every year including 2020.

But then, what are the DIFFERENCES between a goal oriented person and a growth oriented person?

  1. Destination VS Journey. With this, the growth oriented employee enjoys the entire moment and does not wait for someday like the goal oriented employee. For him, everyday counts.
  2. Motivation VS Maturation. If you want to mature, you’ll start living beyond mere motivations – whether you feel like or not, you’ll read that book, attend that training, do the PMP program…
  3. Seasonal VS Lifelong. This is why it’s important to have a defined career path. When you know where you’re going in your career, you take a lifelong decision and step. The growth oriented employee, sees longterm.
  4. Challenges VS Changes. Goals at it’s best challenges you. Although, for each goal you achieve, there’s an element of growth you attain. Yet, the mindset is different. Focusing on growth brings about changes. The last point explains this more…
  5. Stops after goal is attained VS Continues after goal is attained. This is the icing. There’s this death of drive or vibe that comes once we attain a goal. These footballers – Ronaldo and Messi – have exhibited this over and over again hat they are committed to growing than anything.

The same with you and me – if you focus on growth, you’ll become So Good They Can’t Ignore You. (By the way, that’s a book we’ll do in January, 2020.)

The growth focused employee has her eyes on the future. She wants to mature and not just get things. She wants to become.

And the truth is this, when you become, you possess the ability to produce anything you want at that level. You can also compare it collecting fish and knowing how to fish.

So, what’s my most important goal? My personal development. And that’s why I have a Personal Development Plan.

I’ll do a post on how to create a personal development plan by next month. I don’t just want to achieve goals, I want to grow in 2020.

Friday Book Review with Chuks | The 15 Laws of Growth by John Maxwell.

One of the best books I’ve read about personal growth is this. In fact, it’s like a ritual for me to read it before each year starts.

I’ll share few of the laws and insights from the book and if you need it, you can oder for it here.

  • The Law of Intentionality – Growth doesn’t just happen. Waking up and sleeping daily might require no much work but personal growth is different.
  • The Law of Awareness – You must know yourself to grow yourself. In essence, if your colleague in the office goes for a training on content creation yours might be for public speaking, ending what you know you need.
  • The Law of the Mirror – You must see value in yourself to add value to yourself. Don’t you think this might be the reason you’ve not bought those books… you don’t think you deserve it?!
  • The Law of Reflection – Learning to pause allows growth to catch up with you. Just think about it.
  • The Law of Environment – Growth thrives in conducive surroundings. Your company can inspire growth in you or dissuade you from growing.

  • The Law of the Rubber Band – Growth stops when you loose the tension between where you are and where you could be. Hmmm… Are you too comfortable in First Bank that you don’t want to grow again?
  • The Law of Tradeoffs – You have to give up to grow up. Anywhere you want to grow, you must be ready to sacrifice something or else…!
  • The Law of Modelling – It’s hard to improve when you have no one but yourself to follow. Even self made billionaires receive inspiration from others – dead or alive.
  • The Law of the Ladder – Character Growth determines the height of your personal growth.
  • The Law of Contribution – Growing yourself enables you to grow others.

Lots of quotes to look at but then we can just look at these:

“A time comes when you need to stop waiting for the man you want to become and start being the man you want to be.” Bruce Springsteen

“No one can produce great things who is not thoroughly sincere in dealing with himself.” James Russell Lowell

“Almost every man wastes part of his life in attempt to display qualities which he does not possess.” Samuel Johnson

“You cannot win if you do not begin. The people who get ahead in the world are the ones who look for the circumstances they want and if they can’t find them they make them.” John Maxwell

“Most of the accomplishments I’ve achieved in life I began to attempt before I was really ready.” John Maxwell

“If you put a small value on yourself rest assured the world will not raise the price.” John Maxwell

“There are things in life that you have to work for and there are things you have to wait for.” Anonymous

https://giphy.com/gifs/love-piano-2Id0pLT5MbIkM

“The great composer does not set to work because he is inspired, but becomes inspired because he working.” Ernest Newman

“The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment you first find yourself in.” Mark Caine

“God’s gift to us: potential. Our gift to God: developing it.” Unknown

And now the part I love the most… Better is a wise question than an array of unsolicited answers.

  • Do you think you’ll wake up one day in 2020 and notice that you’re a footballer without training?
  • Are there TEDx videos you need to listen to as get more insight into public speaking?
  • What apps are you downloading for 2020 because you know you need them to grow?
  • Do you think the place you live now is inspiring you to dream bigger? What if you begin to spend time at Kilimanjaro restaurant once in a week?
  • Who is the best in your field in Lagos or Enugu or in any state in Nigeria?
  • Can you book an appointment to meet with the person in 2020?
  • Are there personal projects you’ll undertake in 2020 to stretch you beyond your comfort zone? (Open that manuscript again and complete the book…)

  • Are there books you need to read in 2020? (Am actually going through that now and into 2020.)
  • Are you worth a training of N40,000? If yes, what if you go for a Project Management training in 2020?
  • What certification does your organization requires for you to be promoted?
  • Who would you want to help grow in 2020? (Remember, wing yourself will help you grow other.)
  • What did you fear the most in 2019? How can you break that in 2020?

The truth is this: life does not get better with time and that includes 2020. It only gets better by choice.
